Review: Nivea Express Hydration Primer

I've just got around to purchasing another pot of my favourite moisturiser. I couldn't imagine my make up bag without it, and I thought I would do a little review of what I think is a little pot of skin loving goodness. Let's talk about the Nivea Express Hydration Primer...

THE CLAIMS
_____________________________________________________________________________________

Nivea's packaging states that this product 'provides an even and smooth base for effective make-up application', 'helps your make-up stay put', 'absorbs instantly', provides 'long lasting moisturisation and soft skin'. I think that this moisturiser lives up to all of those claims - something not that many products do. It evens out my skin and definitely has smoothing properties. This consequently provides an even surface for make up application. I think any moisturiser helps your make up last longer, but this really does, guessing that's why they've included 'primer' in the name. I can't imagine applying make up without it now, and my skin just seems so much brighter and happier once I've applied it.

The claim includes 'absorbs instantly'. This is no doubt the best property of this moisturiser. As quickly as I'm rubbing it into the skin, it's sinking into my skin, and deeply moisturises and hydrates. It literally does sink into my skin instantly. It just refreshes it like no other moisturiser I've tried.

THE SMELL
_____________________________________________________________________________________

I'm not a fan of strong scented skincare products at all. I can cope with targeting treatments having a strong smell, but any type of face cream like that goes straight to the back of my draw - it may as well go in the bin but I'm a bit of a product hoarder! This face cream isn't like that at all. It is ever so lightly scented with a refreshing floral smell, but there isn't much power to it at all. Definitely not a headache inducing product!

THE FORMULA
_____________________________________________________________________________________

In comparison to other moisturisers I've used this product is very fluid, lightweight and has a much runnier texture. It's very thin, which aids it's quick absorption, and also means it doesn't sit on the skin in any way at all. The primer is also available in two different formulas; Normal/Combination Skin and Dry/Sensitive Skin. I have the first of the two, and even though I have quite dry cheeks, this helps them out, and does as much hydration as it needs to for me.

THE PRICE
_____________________________________________________________________________________

The Nivea Express Hydration Primer is £4.99. I think this is excellent value for money. I've used this product nearly everyday for six months, and I've only just finished the pot - 50ml goes a very long way. It's available from Tesco, Boots and Superdrug!

Have you tried this product? Do you like it as much as I do, or is there another moisturiser you can't live without?
