The Most Loved MUA Eye Palette

A couple of Christmas's ago I received the MUA Undressed palette and since then it has become one of the most loved items in my make up drawer and my most loved MUA product. It's my go to for a neutral eye look, has that all important eyebrow filler shade, and seems to just be that one palette that I feel the need to take with me where ever I go.

THE SHADES

This palette comes with twelve shades. They range from light pink tones to goldens and browns, then some darker mauve tones and blues. Considering there are just twelve shades in the palette you get an incredible variety which can create a huge number of different looks. The orginal product I have with the original packaging has no major issue for me, the shades don't have names and are only referred to as '1, 2, 3....11, 12' - MUA must have sensed my annoyance, as the new packaging I recently picked up includes names shades! Woo! The names are quite strange, I would never have thought a gold shimmer would be described as Lion! Some of the names I don't feel to be very representative of the actual shade but that's a minor thing!

THE BROWS

As a red head with fair skin finding that perfect eyebrow shade is a tough task. Getting the balance right between too bold and invisible, or too dark and too pale is a daily challenge. This makes that a little bit easier. The shade hazel is a well loved shade of this palette. Used on a nearly daily basis, this shade is a pretty good match - I use a pencil for shape and a bit of definition, but I use this colour to make them bolder, and less spacy.

THE PIGMENTATION

The matt shades are less obvious when they are placed on the lid than the shimmers, and require more building to get a higher impact of colour. The shimmer shades are very shimmery, they produce quite a lot of fall down so I would recommend a primer to use with them - this also increases the staying power!

THE DUPE

As a little present my girlfriends recently bought me the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. This is something I'd dreamt of owning for a long time...and now I do I can see the similarities between this and the MUA palette. They contain really similar shades, however the pigmentation of the Naked shadows is more than that of the MUA. I would say the Naked palette is better however if you're looking for an alternative, I'd say give this a go.

THE PRICE
_____________________________________________________________________________________

This palette sells at £4. It's a bargain! It works out at 33p per eye shadow, for that amount of money you can't go wrong! It also means that you can experiment more, MUA offers a few palettes with a range of colours, so at this price you can afford to stock up on a few (although when I'll use turquoise shade from the Dusk till Dawn palette I don't know).

If you don't own this palette and you're a fan of neutrals, you need to! See you next time!
